Who's this guy?

Hi, I'm Robin, an enthusiastic biophysicist and science communicator.

In 2023, I moved from academia to follow my dream to be self-employed in science communication.

After getting both a Master's in physics and in physics education, I did a PhD and postdoc about the wonderful world of electric bacteria. During my academic career, I have been active in science communication through several outreach talks, popular articles, and television interviews. A few personal highlights were the Science Battle in Belgium - explaining your research for young people - and the Baltic Sea Festival in Stockholm - collaborating with a composer to present my research for a broad audience.

With Robin Talks Science, I left academia to combine three big passions of mine: science outreach, teaching, and theatre. My aim is to help researchers with their outreach activities by finding the narrative in their research. In my workshops, I'm teaching presentation skills using techniques from (improv) theatre, with a special focus on storytelling and body language. Equally much I like going into 1-on-1 conversations on different outreach projects, as everyone's question is different. You can find me most in my element hosting outreach events. My favorite project so far was organising and hosting a series of talks called Science and Beers in a local pub in Aarhus (DK).

But I'm sure the best project is still ahead of me. What is your next outreach challenge about?
